Conférence donnée dans le cadre du SP22–Workshop SUPERNORMAL
Market, Law, Norm and Architecture

par Yasutaka Yoshimura, Yasutaka Yoshimura Architects - Prof. of Meiji University

You might getting inspirations from Japanese architecture, which is White, Abstract, Minimal and sometimes Weird. However, discussions among architects in Japan have been shifted to the mechanism of society and its influence upon the Architectural design, especially after the great earthquake in Tohoku. And thus, Normal-ness has suddenly jumped into the field of architects.
I think that the Normal-ness are formed by Market, Law, Norm and Architecture. Anykind of realized buildings are standing on the balance of those four restrictions, which somehow soften up the edges of design. Of course those restrictions are often negative for us architects. But when we could manage it in a good way, the buildings obtain the true Normal-ness and Normality.
